Harden is also a stage performer, appearing in Broadway's "Angels in America" as well as "God of Carnage". "Marcia Gay Harden was born the 14th of August 1959 in the La Jolla area of San Diego, California to Beverly the housewife, who is Thad an US Navy officer. She is the mother of three sisters. Due to her father's work as diplomat, the family often relocated around the globe, living in countries like Germany, Japan and Greece. Harden was a student at Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland after she got settled. Later, she attended the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 1980, receiving a bachelor's in theater at the time. Harden was accepted into NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988, in order to complete her MFA.
